Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development - HBOR is a state-owned development and export bank, founded in 1992 pursuant to the resolution of the Parliament of the Republic of Croatia to facilitate the reconstruction and development of the economy. Its main activities are: 1. Financing the reconstruction and development of the economy; 2. Financing infrastructure; 3. Promoting exports; 4. Promoting SME’s; 5. Environmental protection, energy efficiency and renewable energy resources; 6. Export credit insurance of Croatian goods and services against non-market risks. Credit rating: • Baa3 by Moody`s • BBB by Standard&Poor`s HBOR gives special attention to establishing and maintaining successful relations with international financial institutions, development banks, export credit agencies and commercial banks. HBOR maintains a wide network of correspondent and current account relations and can offer customary instruments of foreign exchange transactions to its clients. HBOR participates in the financing of the process aimed at creating Croatia’s export products from production preparation to the payment of an export transaction. Confirming its role as Croatia’s export bank and export credit agency, HBOR has signed Memorandums of Understanding with leading export banks and export credit agencies with the aim of improving co-operation on joint entry into third markets and increasing the quality of support for Croatian exporters. New insurance company for marketable risks has been established by HBOR & OekB Sudosteuropa GmbH and has been operating since 1 September 2010. With the objective of environmental protection, natural resources protection and sustainable development, HBOR participates in the implementation of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
