Zagreb, June 29, 2010 – Barbara Kolar, Avon's ambassador, has opened two Avon's rooms at the Center for psychological assistance to women suffering from breast cancer „SVE za NJU!“. Avon has invested funds for arranging and equipping these rooms with an aim of providing temporary accommodation for women from different parts of Croatia.
“Avon reaffirms the importance of our contribution to issues of wider significance such as the fight against breast cancer. Buying Avon products marked with pink ribbon is the easiest way to contribute,” said Barbara Kolar.

Excellent start for the Best Buy Award certification project

Best Buy Award is a project initiated by our own member Axios d.o.o. It was launched at the end of February this year and already in the first three months it has been successful beyond all expectations. Best Buy Award is a program of certification and reward done in association with AmCham's Patron Member, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and in partnership cooperation with the renowned Centre for Market Research, GFK. Best Buy Award is a certificate which focuses on what interests today's consumers the most - 'What is being offered on the market that has the best price as well as excellent quality'.

With 'Best Buy Award' research and certification, the fundamental goal is to enable consumers on the Croatian market to easily recognise those products and services which offer the best price whilst at the same time - top quality. Only 'Best Buy Award' rewards products and services in Croatia on the basis of their quality and price - as determined by scientific research based on the opinions and experiences of consumers themselves.

In only the first three months since it was launched, all of the most significant Croatian media have been positively informing the public about the Best Buy Certification Project including: HRT; Jutarnji list; Večernji list; 24 sata; Globus; Gloria; Lider; Business.hr; Poslovni dnevnik; Net.hr; Index.hr; Tportal; SeeBiz and many others. In total, more than 600 media sources in Croatia have written about Best Buy Award with more than 20,000 references on the internet alone (source: Google).

Some of the largest Croatian and international companies present in Croatia have already joined the Best Buy Award program by being holders of the Best Buy Award Certificate including: Vindija; Podravka; Dukat; Zagrebačka banka; City Center One; Magma; HG Spot; the daily newspaper 24 sata; the business weekly Lider; and many others.

This has created a strong foundation on which to expand this innovative project developed in Croatia in association with Croatian and international companies in the region and beyond.
