It was 60 years ago that Economics Laboratory first brought its philosophy to Europe. This founding company of Ecolab, established 123 years ago, took the concept of “economics” by helping customers save time, labor and costs, backed by “laboratory” research. In Europe Ecolab’s footprint has dramatically broadened; its associates now operate a total of 23 chemical manufacturing plants, producing more than 6,000 products. Today, about 10,000 associates work across 35 European countries, in pursuit of Ecolab’s purpose of making the world cleaner, safer and healthier, protecting people and vital resources. These products are helping customers in Europe, like Heineken, Unilever and ArcelorMittal, to name a mere few, meet aggressive sustainability goals and European consumers’ desire for safely produced products. While Ecolab helps customers to save water and energy and improve their carbon footprint, it also focuses inwards, particularly in Europe.
