A € 2 million digital inclusion fund: Google.org Impact Challenge CEE

The aim of this open call is to fund innovative ideas that use technology and innovation to help individuals and communities in need through economic recovery. Applications by March 1, 2021 for nonprofits, companies, and academic institutions.

The Google.org Impact Challenge, dedicated for the first time to Central and Eastern Europe (through which 2 million euros in grants will be awarded), is open for applications in the Republic of Croatia. Projects should therefore help bridge the digital divide and build a digital economy that works for everyone. The project support provided will be both financial (ranging from € 50,000 to € 250,000 over 12-36 months), but also in the form of Google’s expert support.

The opening of this fund today is linked to the announcement Google made during the Three Seas Initiative virtual summit in October last year that we will support the ambition of the region gathered in the Three Seas Initiative to build resilient, digitally oriented economies.

Eligible organizations (non-profit organizations, companies and academic institutions) can now apply for support for their charitable projects until March 1, 2021 at g.co/ceechallenge. In the coming weeks, during the application process, we will support the candidates by organizing two workshops. Awarded projects (beneficiaries) will be announced in June or July. We are honored that a distinguished panel of experts, including Hrvoje Josip Balen, will advise on the selection of the best ideas.

We sincerely hope that the projects implemented with the help of this fund will significantly contribute to the economic recovery and digital inclusion of the Republic of Croatia.
