AmCham & Kearney: Effects of COVID-19 on Croatian Economy

Because of a very negative impact of pandemic on business (companies expect a negative revenue of - 13% on average, a decrease of 8% in investments and a 4% decrease in future number of employees), Croatian companies expect acceleration of the adoption of digital ways of working and changes in their supply chains. Most of the companies who use the government’s aids are satisfied with the way they have been implemented. These are just some of the results of a research on the impact of COVID-19 on business in Croatia that American Chamber of Commerce in Croatia conducted together with a global consulting company Kearney. 

The results of the research were presented to the business and public sector representatives on the AmCham’s virtual conference „Impact of COVID-19 on Economy and Business Activity in Croatia“ on July, 15, 2020. 

Readiness of Croatian companies for the crisis, effects on business income and long-term changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic are some of the topics that were discussed at the panel discussion following the presentation of the results. Velibor Mačkić, Special Advisor to the President of Croatia for Economy, Mislav Blažić, President of the Management Board, PBZ Card, Marko Derča, Associate Partner, Kearney, Dražen Roškarić, Director of Logistics, Vindija and Tatjana Skoko, Country Manager, Microsoft Hrvatska commented on the survey’s results and the mentioned topics.
