AmCham meets Minister of Finance Marko Primorac

Representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Croatia met with a recently appointed Minister of Finance Marko Primorac and associates to present AmCham's recommendations for tax reform in 2022 and other AmCham’s activities.

AmCham has recently published a new position paper “Recommendations for the Tax System Reform in 2022” in which it proposes a series of recommendations for further tax relief aimed at even stronger investment attraction and greater competitiveness of Croatian employers in attracting and retaining the workforce.

Topics discussed at the meeting included, amongst other, AmCham’s proposal to increase non-taxable personal deductions to HRK 4,900 (EUR 650*); decrease of the 20% personal income tax rate to 10% and the 30% tax rate to 25% and application of the maximum monthly and the maximum annual bases in the calculation of healthcare insurance. AmCham’s proposal of including limited liability companies (“d.o.o.”) in the implementation of options plans was also discussed.

Minister Primorac emphasized that part of the measures proposed by AmCham are included in the autumn package of measures of the Government of the Republic of Croatia for the protection of households and the economy against rising prices. He welcomed the long-term efforts and activities of AmCham in improving the tax system and called for further cooperation between the Ministry of Finance and AmCham with the aim of strengthening and achieving a more competitive tax system.

Besides Minister Primorac, representatives of Ministry of Finance at the meeting included Božidar Kutleša, Director General of the Tax Administration and Zdravko Zrinušić, State Secretary.
