Cryptocurrency payments introduced for Billy fiscal cash registers

Cryptocurrencies can be used to pay at over 15,000 Billy fiscal cash registers in Croatia and Slovenia, with very low merchant fees

Billy POS, a member of the ETRANET Group, as the leading Croatian provider of fiscalisation services present on the Croatian, Slovenian and Czech markets, has enabled payment in cryptocurrencies at 15,000 Billy fiscal cash registers.

In collaboration with the Slovenian GoCrypto system, Billy POS can quickly and easily enable interested merchants to receive payment in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Eli Token (ELI), Ether (ETH) and Bitcoin (BTC). In doing so, the buyer has the flexibility to choose which of these cryptocurrencies he wants to pay in - the merchant will always receive the amount in HRK, minus the transaction fee, into his business account.

It is important to note that transaction fees for merchants when receiving cryptocurrencies are significantly lower than for debit or credit card payments. Thus, at the time of the transaction, the amount received by the merchant will be reduced by just 1.25% for the transaction at the cash register, or 1.45% if the purchase is made by webshop. Also, the payment integration is completely free of charge for the merchants, nor do they pay a monthly fee for receiving cryptocurrency - for them, the only cost is the transaction fee.

To pay in cryptocurrencies at Billy fiscal cash registers shoppers only need to scan a QR code from the cashier screen from their cryptocurrency wallet. For example, if they want to pay with Bitcoin Cash (BCH), they can do so from any crypto wallet app that supports this cryptocurrency, that is, it can communicate with the Bitcoin.com platform (of which GoCrypto is a partner).

Otherwise, cryptocurrencies on the GoCrypto platform (formerly Elipay) can be used as any other means of payment at over 500 outlets in Slovenia. With the strong support of the umbrella company that manages the BTC shopping city in Ljubljana, it is no surprise that cryptocurrencies have long been received at BTC Shopping City in Ljubljana, but also in the Big Bang e-commerce chain or the Tuš supermarkets.
