AmCham Croatia participated in the annual meeting of AmChams in Europe in the US this year took place in Washington DC and Miami.

Executives of national European AmChams engaged with top executives from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the US State Department, the US Department of Commerce, the US Small Business Administration, the Atlantic Council, and APCO. We attended the Transatlantic Business Works Summit 2024 organized by the US Chamber of Commerce with a message from Gina Raimondo, and the participation of Enrico Letta.  AmCham Croatia also attended the reception by the EU Embassy in the US to mark the conference and the launch of the 2024 Transatlantic Economy report.

The central themes of our discussions were Transatlantic economic and business relations in the light of the latest geopolitical and economic developments, the significance of the upcoming elections in the EU and US, potential outcomes, deliberations from recent Trade and Technology Council meetings, the implications of the Inflation Reduction Act and the Chips and Science Act on both US and European businesses and economies, and the pathway to a green transition.

In Washington DC, AmCham Croatia Executive Director, Andrea Doko Jelušić held several meetings on the topic of double taxation between Croatia and the US: Croatian Ambassador Pjer Šimunović and his associates, John Murphy, Senior Vice President of US Chamber and Head of International, and at the US State Department.

After time in DC, the delegation proceeded to Miami for a two-day itinerary. There, we had the privilege of meeting with the leadership of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, representatives from the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, and senior executives of the Royal Caribbean Group.
