New Price List for Postal Services in Internal Postal Traffic

Letter and postcard postage rates adjusted after almost ten years

As from 1 September 2020, Croatian Post will apply a new price list for postal services in internal postal traffic. Starting from 1 September, the postage rate for letters up to 50 grams, greeting cards and postcards will amount to HRK 3.30 instead of the previous rate of HRK 3.10, representing a 6% increase. The price of the additional service “advice of delivery” will also be HRK 3.30. Since the postage rate for court letters comprises the price of registered mail and the price of advice of delivery, the postage rate for court letters will be increased by HRK 0.20. For instance, instead of paying HRK 14.60 to post a court letter up to 50 grams, as from 1 September, the postage rate will amount to HRK 14.80.

The prices of the universal package sending services for packages up to 10 kilograms will also change and the postage rate will increase by HRK 5.00 for each weight class. So, instead of the previous postage rate of HRK 20.00, the delivery of a package up to 2 kilograms to the recipient’s address will now cost HRK 25.00.

Since 2010, when the letter postage rates in internal postal traffic were last changed, there has been a significant increase in various costs, including delivery costs. Moreover, the average salary in the last ten years has increased by approximately 25%, while the total inflation rate between January 2010 and January 2020 was 11%.

In comparison with 27 postal operators in the EU, the postage rate for regular letters in internal postal traffic will still be significantly lower than the average, which amounts to HRK 5.76.

The new price list is available at Croatian Post's website www.posta.hr and at all post offices.
