SPAR Croatia has opened the first SPAR supermarket in the backcountry of Istria. The new supermarket is located in Buje at Gospodarska 1a, directly next to the roundabout. The investment is worth 30 million kuna. With its 630 square meters of sales area it is the largest supermarket in Buje. In addition to the newly opened supermarket in Buje, Spar is present in Istria in Umag, Labin, Pula and Poreč.

There will be 22 new employees at the service of customers in the SPAR supermarket in Buje. All new employees were tested for COVID-19, as they were entering the SPAR network for the first time.

In order to enable all customers to make a secure purchase, free protective masks were distributed at the entrance at the supermarket in Buje to all customers who did not have their own mask. Besides, in the newly opened supermarket, the employee´s body temperature is measured before the start of the shift, and Plexiglas protection has been installed.

The working hours of the SPAR supermarket in Buje have been extended from Monday to Saturday from 7 am to 10 pm and on Sundays from 8 am to 9 pm in order to give customers as much time as possible to make purchases. The newly opened supermarket has 53 outdoor parking spaces with canopies to protect the vehicles from the sun.

On the occasion of the opening of the new store in Buje, SPAR Croatia handed over a donation to the Voluntary Fire Brigade of Buje. These are 70 multifunctional fire extinguishers - innovative devices of the Croatian company Ria Rescue that replace a number of various tools, and help firefighters with daily interventions and enable even faster action in emergencies and saving lives and property.
