One of their major achievements was last year’s recognition by the Financial Times, which included Syntio in their list of Europe’s fastest growing companies.
This year, Croatia’s cloud data engineering company Syntio is celebrating their sixth anniversary. Currently, the company, which was co-founded in Zagreb in 2017 by Davorin Cetto and Tomislav Domanovac, employs over a hundred people. One of their major achievements was last year’s recognition by the Financial Times, which included Syntio in their list of Europe’s fastest growing companies. Looking at the IT sector specifically, Syntio ranks 55th in Europe and first in Croatia, growing by nearly 700 percent from 2017 until 2020.
This was further proof that they were doing great things, as evidenced by the increasing number of their customers all around the world, from Scandinavia to the United States to South Africa. These are all renowned global companies that recognize the true value of using data to further improve their business operations. At the same time, Syntio is partnered with three of the top cloud service providers – Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and AWS.
From the very beginning, Syntio has been integrating social values into every aspect of their business – from their special approach to ESG reporting, office organization, and transparent communication across departments and levels, to making specific investments in employees’ health and maintaining a well-balanced work environment. Syntio is also one of the rare companies of that size that, in 2022, decided to release a non-financial report (ESG report).
Throughout their six years of business, Syntio has had many achievements in different areas. For instance, together with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb (FER), the company launched a course on cloud data engineering technologies. This educational module teaches students expert knowledge and skills in several different areas of computing, including implementing, testing, deploying, producing, monitoring, and managing distributed information systems in the cloud. So far, they have also held two seasons of the Syntio Summer School, which allows students to gain practical knowledge by applying the theoretical concepts learned in the classroom. In the two years since its launch, the Summer School has seen nearly 30 participants. The company has also earned the European Cycle-Friendly Employer certification, thus joining the international initiative of socially responsible companies whose goal is to reduce greenhouse gases and have a positive impact on their employees’ health and lifestyle.
Syntio’s latest achievement was launching their own data platform, Dataphos. The platform is used for real-time data integration and processing, enabling the improvement of business processes and the creation of new business functions, as well as an infrastructure that enables decision-making based on current and detailed data regardless of the complexity, and often a large number of existing IT systems. In most cases, the platform replaces the centralized, complex solutions of the last generation, which are difficult to manage and change, and whose costs are very high. The Dataphos platform enables the client to solve all their data needs. It is easy to implement and maintain, easy to change and adapt to the client's business needs, and significantly reduces costs.
