SPAR Hrvatska d.o.o. is the third largest retail chain in Croatia. It has maintained its presence on the Croatian market since 2005, when the first INTERSPAR was opened in Zadar. Nowadays, the chain has 114 stores, i.e. 92 SPAR supermarkets and 22 INTERSPAR hypermarkets, and employs over 4,600 people.

Ever since its arrival in Croatia, the growth of SPAR Hrvatska has been accompanied by the growth of many domestic manufacturers who have found their buyers through SPAR, while SPAR and INTERSPAR have become retail stores offering the biggest selection of domestic products.
Besides having their products on the shelves at SPAR Hrvatska, many domestic manufacturers have managed to place their products on various foreign markets through the SPAR retail network, with the exports securing their continued growth, product development and new job openings. As a result, Croatian products are currently exported to Austria, Hungary, Slovenia and Italy.

By including Croatian suppliers’ products in its wide product range, SPAR highlights Croatian quality and greatly contributes to the country’s economy. Finally, this year, for the second time ever, SPAR was named Croatia’s best retailer by the specialized magazine Ja Trgovac.
