AmCham Croatia submitted a request to HALMED to impose a moratorium on the annual calculation of medicine prices due to rising production costs and record inflation. It highlights that pharmaceutical companies, unlike other industries, cannot adjust prices freely, putting medicine supply at risk—especially for generics and biosimilars. It cites Germany’s decision to suspend price controls until 2026 as an example. AmCham urges that referencing and annual price calculations be paused in 2023 to ensure stable medicine supply in Croatia.
