2026 Policy Issues
1. Gas Market Act
- Croatia is preparing a new law to regulate the gas market as part of the transition toward lower greenhouse gas emissions and a more sustainable energy system. Updating the legal framework raises important questions about how the gas market will function in practice, how new energy sources will be integrated, and how energy security and affordability will be maintained during the transition.
2. Law on Renewable Energy Sources and High-Efficiency Cogeneration
- Croatia is preparing changes to its energy laws to increase the use of renewable energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. These changes matter not only for energy companies, but also for businesses, investors, and consumers, as they shape how quickly renewable energy projects are developed and integrated into the energy system.
The Committee will monitor all legal changes during 2026 by the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Transition and other competent authorities and react as necessary.
Committee will specifically monitor developments regarding the Regulation on Eliminating Disturbances on the Domestic Energy Market.
