AmCham Talents - How Global Shifts Shape Corporate Strategy

The eighth lecture of the AmCham Talents 2026 program will be delivered by Miroslav Kovačić, Founder and CEO of MKPS Business Consultancy Services, an expert whose career brings together diplomacy, public affairs, regulatory reform, and strategic advisory work at the intersection of business and geopolitics.

Miroslav Kovačić is a former diplomat with the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, with extensive experience in both national and international institutional environments. Throughout his career, he has held a number of senior positions, including Chief of Staff to the Head of the President’s Office, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in the United Kingdom, and Acting Head of the North America Department at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.

From 2004 to 2008, he served as Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Croatian Telecom, while also sitting on the supervisory boards of several major Croatian companies, including Telco and Končar. During the same period, he was appointed State Secretary for e-Croatia, where he worked on the regulatory reform programme HITROREZ, recognized by the World Bank as one of its most successful projects. From 2005 to 2011, he was also a chief negotiator in Croatia’s accession to the European Union for three chapters: Information Society and Media, Transport Policy, and Trans-European Networks.

From 2008 to 2012, he served as Director of MPR, a Zagreb-based public affairs and public relations agency. He currently leads MKPS Business Consultancy Services, where he advises clients on public affairs and strategic communications. Drawing on extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, he helps organizations navigate complex political and business challenges, providing integrated public affairs, lobbying, and communications services at the local, national, regional, and European levels.

Throughout his career, he has also worked on numerous political campaigns, including the parliamentary elections of 2003, 2007, and 2011, as well as presidential and local election campaigns.

In his lecture, Miroslav Kovačić will share his perspective on how global political, regulatory, and geostrategic shifts increasingly shape business decision-making, and how organizations can adapt their strategies in an environment marked by growing uncertainty and rapidly changing international dynamics.
