Boardroom Discussions - Managing Fraud in a Digital World

At the fourth session of award winning program the keynote speakers were Grozdana Marić, CFE, Head of regional Fraud & Security Intelligence Practice, CE & SEE, SAS Institute and Matija Jurin, Senior Business Development Manager, Comping.

Rapid digitalization is an important growth factor for business, especially after the pandemic acting as a digital catalyst. But business is not the only benefactor of this trend, as sophisticated fraudsters take advantage of diminishing physical controls and increased digital interactions to design more effective schemes.

Knowing the most common methods by which fraud is discovered is the foundation for effective detection of occupational fraud. Understanding the methods fraudsters use to conceal their crimes can assist organizations in more effectively detecting and preventing similar schemes in the future.

At this sessions SAS and Comping presented the latest insight from the study "How people steal" done in cooperation with ACFE, and discuss how Boards can sponsor an effective anti-fraud strategy and leverage technology that will allow organizations to stay ahead of the 'new generation of fraudsters', to ensure transparency and trust in the digitalized organization.

At this session:

  • Isight was given into the most interesting survey results about how fraud is usually committed in Croatian organizations
  • It was discussed how Business leaders can implement the successful anti-fraud strategies in their organizations
  • It was discussed which are the most relevant digital solutions that are used to optimize and automate operational decisions, and how they support fast anti-fraud strategy implementation
