Global Risks Report 2026 - Navigating Uncertainty
AmCham Croatia and Marsh organized a joint business event, bringing together business leaders and experts to discuss how companies can respond to growing global uncertainty and strengthen resilience in an increasingly volatile environment.
Opening the event, Andrea Doko Jelušić, Executive Director of AmCham Croatia, noted that today’s risk landscape requires leaders to look beyond immediate disruptions and understand the broader forces shaping business decisions, competitiveness, and growth. Jasminka Horvat Martinović, CEO of Marsh Croatia, emphasized the importance of strategic risk management and long-term resilience in a business environment shaped by geopolitical fragmentation, economic shifts, and accelerated technological transformation.
The central part of the event featured a presentation of the Global Risks Report 2026, the World Economic Forum’s flagship annual report traditionally presented at its Annual Meeting in Davos. The report was presented by Lorraine Stack, Regional Leader for Risk Management for Europe at Marsh, who outlined the key global risks and structural trends expected to shape the business landscape in the years ahead.
The report highlighted a growing perception among global experts that the world is entering a more turbulent and fragmented era, characterized by geoeconomic confrontation, cyber insecurity, misinformation and disinformation, societal polarization, and climate-related risks. The discussion also addressed the increasing interconnectedness of risks and the need for companies to move from reactive approaches toward more strategic and forward-looking risk management models.
Following the presentation, a panel discussion titled Transforming Uncertainty into Growth brought together leading business executives from Croatia to exchange perspectives on how companies can navigate disruption, strengthen organizational resilience, and identify new opportunities for growth in a rapidly changing environment.
The panel featured Dario Silić, General Manager of Bina Istra; Ivana Mrkonjić, President of the Management Board of Hrvatska pošta; Neven Vranković, Vice President of Atlantic Group; Jasminka Horvat Martinović, CEO of Marsh Croatia; Stjepan Roglić, Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Orbico Group; and Adrian Ježina, President of the Management Board of Telemach Hrvatska. The discussion was moderated by Martina Sokač Saraga, strategic communications and business development expert.
Panelists highlighted that resilience today increasingly depends on the ability to anticipate change, adapt business models quickly, strengthen supply chains and infrastructure, and make strategic decisions in conditions of heightened uncertainty. Particular emphasis was placed on leadership, organizational agility, cybersecurity, talent availability, and the growing importance of scenario planning in long-term business strategy.
The event concluded with an informal networking, reaffirming the importance of dialogue and knowledge exchange on the global trends and risks that are increasingly shaping the local business environment.
