Leadership in an Era of Constant Change

Help your team thrive in uncertain times! Nikša Ilović and Roko Vodopija will present practical leadership approaches and tools for turning uncertainty into opportunities, based on the globally recognized methodologies of FranklinCovey.

Today’s organizations operate in an environment where economic uncertainty, geopolitical instability, AI‑driven technological disruption, rapidly shifting customer expectations, and significant generational differences among employees have become everyday business reality. Change is no longer an occasional event, it is a constant force shaping how we work, make decisions, and lead people.

Despite substantial investments in strategy, technology, and transformation, research shows that nearly 70% of change initiatives fail (“The State of Organizational Health 2026”, McKinsey, 2026). The root cause is rarely the strategy itself, it is the ability of managers to inspire their people, build trust, and maintain high levels of engagement during periods of uncertainty.

Leading consulting firms and global research institutions consistently highlight that:

  • 84% of senior executives feel unprepared for future disruptions (McKinsey, How to remain resilient, focused, and effective in
  • Most CEOs believe their organizations will not survive without significantly greater agility (Bain & Company, The 2026 CEO Agenda: Where Ambition Outpaces Execution, 2026)
  • 62% of employees believe their managers’ leadership styles are outdated (FranklinCovey, Global Leadership Study, 2025)
  • 82% of HR leaders say their managers are not equipped to lead people effectively through change (Gartner, Top 5 Priorities for HR Leaders in 2024)

Leading people in an era of constant change therefore requires effective paradigms, new approaches, and new leadership practices. Effective leaders, those who turn disruption into strategic advantage, consistently apply three core principles when guiding their teams through change:

  • They use a clear and inspiring purpose as an anchor in chaos
  • They promote a mindset of continuous learning and reinvention
  • They empower their teams through trust, autonomy, and ownership
