OSAC Program: American Standards for Secure Global Business
AmCham organized an introductory presentation of the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) program, a key public-private partnership that supports organizations in addressing increasingly complex global security challenges.
Mr. Gregory Drazek, Regional Security Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Croatia, introduced the role and activities of OSAC, which operates under the auspices of the U.S. Department of State. Through his presentation, he emphasized the importance of timely exchange of security information, support in crisis situations, and ongoing education and cooperation between the private sector and the Diplomatic Security Service. He also explained how OSAC can be a useful resource in protecting businesses from various security threats.
Chargé d’Affaires a.i. at the U.S. Embassy in Croatia, mr. Trey Lyons made an opening remark emphasizing the importance and value of the OSAC program. The presentation was followed by a brief discussion on the operational aspects of the program.
OSAC, founded in 1985, today brings together more than 18,000 representatives from around 5,400 organizations worldwide – including businesses, educational institutions, non-governmental and religious organizations – and represents an important resource for all organizations operating beyond the borders of their home country.
