Dubrovnik Hosts Delegation of the Global Artisan Vintners Alliance from California and Texas
Mayor Mato Franković today received a delegation of The Global Artisan Vintners Alliance in Dubrovnik. The meeting was held with the aim of strengthening international cooperation between wine regions in Croatia and the United States, with the support of AmCham Croatia.
Headquartered in Livermore, CA, The Global Artisan Vintners Alliance (AVA) was established in January 2025 to create a mutually beneficial alliance of partner wine regions across the globe that promote collaboration and share best practices in viticulture, agri- and eno-tourism, marketing initiatives, and economic development to elevate each wine region and its global presence.
The delegation included American winemakers from California and Texas, led by Mirena Bagur, Executive Director of The Global Artisan Vintners Alliance, who also serves as Vice President of Croatian Premium Wine Imports, Inc., and is a member of AmCham Croatia. Croatian Premium Wine Imports, Inc. specializes in the import, distribution, and online sales of Croatian and American wines, with delivery available to most U.S. states, significantly contributing to the promotion of Croatian wines in the American market.
The reception was also attended by Andrea Doko Jelušić, Executive Director of AmCham Croatia.
During the meeting, the importance of further developing cooperation and the potential for stronger positioning of Croatia as a recognized global wine destination were emphasized.
The Global Artisan Vintners Alliance brings together 12 wine regions from around the world: Livermore Valley (California, USA), Texas Hill Country (Texas, USA), Chilecito (Argentina), Vale dos Vinhedos (Brazil), Dalmatia (Croatia), Chinon (France), Imereti (Georgia), Badacsony (Hungary), Chianti Rufina (Italy), Baja California (Mexico), Alentejo (Portugal), and Paarl (South Africa).
