Help to children affected by earthquakes in Croatia
Croatia has shown exceptional solidarity and togetherness in the first days and weeks of this crisis situation, but it is even more important that we continue to be with children and families endangered by earthquakes in the months ahead.
Children are particularly vulnerable and their needs will be long-term and that is why it is important that we provide them with the necessary support. After the urgent delivery of protective equipment in the early days, UNICEF helps children and families receive the protection and special care needed to overcome the trauma they experienced by providing them with psychosocial support, returning them to joy through play in their custom spaces and other interventions. We will also support the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and local authorities in ensuring quality continuing education for children. UNICEF collects donations to children and families in earthquake-ravaged areas and helps ensure:
• hygiene supplies and protective equipment
• psychosocial assistance
• support for kindergartens and schools
• support to health facilities and social services.
