Message from the President of the Board of Governors

Dear members and friends,

together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting us all and testing us in unimaginable ways, from changing our way of living to the shifting of world economy and health. We are called upon to be our best selves, with patience, understanding and compassion.

This is also a test of our ability to address a legitimate public threat with an unknown trajectory. Multiple sectors must leverage knowledge, expertise, networks and resources to produce better tomorrow. The future of our public health and economy will depend on how government officials, policymakers, leaders and business community react.

In times of uncertainty, being a part of AmCham Croatia now more than ever emphasizes a critical role of this platform in planning, implementing and adapting to this crisis. This includes honest, coherent and timely communication with all relevant public and government officials while providing adequate funding and support for the response.

On the other hand, dealing with this crisis begins with each of us. Following the advice of government and public health authorities, and proactively implementing a range of precautionary measures, is the best way to protect ourselves and those around us.

My heart goes out to anyone who's been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. I am truly inspired by everyone on the front lines and personally humbled by many acts of bravery, kindness and support witnessed across our country. This troubling time has indeed brought out the best in many.

We can all contribute in our own way; therefore, I encourage you to share kindness and generously donate to all those who are relentlessly fighting to stop the disease as well as those affected by it.
