Seminar: trade with the USA and control of re-export of products of American origin
In cooperation with the US Embassy and AmCham, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) organizes a seminar on trade with the USA and control of the re-export of products of American origin, which will be held on August 23, 2023, at the headquarters of HGK in Zagreb.
We are witnessing that the current political, economic, technological, and security environment today is significantly different from that of only ten years ago. Laws, regulations, or practices that do not take into account these realities - and that do not have enough flexibility to allow adaptation in response to future changes - ultimately harm security, and impose costs and burdens without any corresponding benefit to the state and society as a whole.
To prevent the negative consequences of the uncontrolled distribution, in the first place of high-tech products of American origin, the U.S. Department of Commerce/Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) is in charge of controlling them. To fulfill its mission, BIS also depends heavily on international cooperation with the US's major trading partners and other countries of strategic importance, such as major transportation hubs. This seminar in Croatia should also be viewed in this sense.
The seminar is intended for all Croatian companies that do business with the USA, especially those that import products from the USA.
A draft of the program you can find here.
At the seminar, presentations will be made by representatives of the American BIS and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia (MVEP). The presentations will be followed by networking where representatives of Croatian companies will have the opportunity to meet directly with representatives of BIS, MVEP, the US Embassy, AmCham, and HGK.
We invite you to participate on August 23, 2023, and familiarize yourself with the latest rules related to trade in American products and the details of control procedures, thus ensuring your smooth operations in the future.
