The Perspective of the Directive on Gender-Balanced Boards in Croatia
You are invited to participate in the conference Corporate Governance in Focus: The Perspective of the Directive on Gender-Balanced Boards in Croatia, which will be held on Friday, December 8, from 10 a.m. Organizers are the Office of the European Parliament in Croatia, in cooperation with the Croatian Association of Women in the Legal Profession (HUŽUPP).
The directive on improving the gender balance in management boards and supervisory boards of companies on the stock exchange came into force at the end of 2022, and member states must submit a report to the European Commission on the measures taken to achieve the goals set by it by the end of 2025.
In particular, it should be ensured that by June 30, 2026, at least 40% of the positions of non-executive directors or 33% of all directorships are filled by an underrepresented gender.
The Office of the European Parliament in Croatia, in cooperation with the Croatian Association of Women in the Legal Profession (HUŽUPP), is pleased to invite you to the conference CORPORATE GOVERNANCE IN FOCUS: The Perspective of the Directive on Gender-Balanced Boards in Croatia, which will be held on Friday, December 8, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. hours at the Croatian Journalist Society (Perkovčeva 2) in Zagreb.
At the conference, HUŽUPP will present the main highlights of its proposal for the legal regulation of gender equality in management positions in companies and the expected positive financial effects for business and society. The opening address will be given by the Minister of Justice and Administration, Ivan Malenica, the Vice President of the European Parliament, Evelyn Regner (online), and the head of the European Parliament Office in Croatia, Maja Ljubić Kutnjak.
Gender-balanced governance will be discussed in two panels.
