Welcome New Member: Bina-Istra d.d.

The 141-kilometre motorway network, made up of the A8 and A9 motorways, connects Istria with the rest of Croatia and is one of the busiest road routes in the country, especially during the tourist season, with up to 13 million vehicles passing through it each year. The company's operations include toll collection, maintenance and traffic supervision, as well as the management of the Učka Tunnel. The company independently finances the development of the network, builds new sections, and manages and maintains the completed sections of the motorway with its more than 250 employees. The company is headed by its CEO, Dr. Dario Silić. Upon the expiry of the concession, scheduled for 2041, the A8 and A9 motorways, which make up the Istrian Y, will pass into the ownership of the Republic of Croatia. BINA-Istra is also involved in the introduction of the Free Flow electronic toll collection system and is preparing new projects, such as the Istrian X towards Labin.
