The COVID-19 pandemic severely impacted the tourism sector in Central and Eastern Europe (Croatia, Czechia, Romania, and Slovakia), exposing structural weaknesses such as lack of modern infrastructure, regional marketing, destination management, and quality urban experiences. AmCham proposes investments in tourism and transport infrastructure, joint regional marketing campaigns, and urban regeneration projects. By leveraging EU funds and acting together, the region has an opportunity to modernize tourism, strengthen competitiveness, and ensure sustainable development in the post-COVID era.
