Comments on the Draft Proposal of the Cyber Security Act

AmCham Croatia supports the NIS2 Directive's implementation through the Cyber Security Act and calls for clarity, stakeholder involvement, and proper governance to ensure effective cybersecurity across Croatia’s institutions and economy.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Croatia (AmCham) highlights the strategic importance of cybersecurity in today’s digital landscape and supports the transposition of the EU’s NIS2 Directive into national legislation via the proposed Cyber Security Act. AmCham emphasizes the need for legal clarity, clear institutional roles—particularly between the Security and Intelligence Agency and the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC)—and inclusive policymaking involving cybersecurity experts and businesses. As new EU cybersecurity regulations like the CER and CRA directives are introduced, AmCham urges coordination to avoid legal conflicts and ensure a unified, effective cybersecurity framework that safeguards both public and private sectors in Croatia.
