Initiative for a Sustainable and Competitive Definition of Electricity Prices in Croatia
Initiative for a Sustainable and Competitive Definition of Electricity Prices in Croatia
Proposal of measures for sustainable and competitive electricity pricing in Croatia focusing on local production and market regulation.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Croatia (AmCham) presents recommendations for achieving sustainable and competitive electricity pricing. In light of the energy crisis triggered by the war in Ukraine, the document proposes cost-oriented wholesale pricing, a redefinition of regulated components, stimulation of self-production, and reinforcement of Croatia's geostrategic energy position. It emphasizes the need for a regulatory framework that supports renewable energy production and for a strategic approach to Croatia’s role as an energy transit hub in the EU. The initiative aims to reduce import dependency and maintain affordable electricity prices for households and businesses over the long term.
