Joint Statement of Bilateral Chambers Proposal of the Windfall Tax Act

Four bilateral chambers oppose the proposed extra profit tax on non-energy sectors, warning it would harm investment inflows and Croatia’s economic competitiveness.

Four business chambers (AmCham, CCBN, AHK, Nordic Chamber) express concern over the draft law introducing an additional profit tax on industries beyond the energy sector. They warn the measure could negatively affect foreign investments, business climate, and Croatia's competitiveness. The proposed tax targets companies with revenues over HRK 300 million, taxing 33% of profit exceeding 20% above a four-year average. The chambers urge the government to reconsider and engage in dialogue with the business sector to adopt fairer and more effective economic recovery measures.
