Moody’s assigns investment-grade Credit Rating to HPB

The international credit rating agency Moody’s, one of the three largest such institutions in the world, has assigned HPB a Baa2 long-term deposit rating and a Baa3 long-term issuer rating, with a stable outlook.

Marko Badurina, President of the Management Board of Hrvatska poštanska banka, commented on Moody’s rating: “The investment-grade credit rating assigned to HPB makes me extremely proud, as it represents recognition of the many years of work by the HPB team in consistently strengthening the Bank through sustainable growth in market share and profitable operations. It also affirms the economic policy of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, which fosters a positive business environment for entrepreneurs and citizens, reflected in the highest credit rating the Republic of Croatia has achieved in its history.”

This credit rating also confirms HPB’s strong capitalization, its market position among the five largest banks in Croatia, and the impact his position has on Bank’s profitability and cost efficiency.

By receiving an investment-grade rating, HPB joins a small group of Croatian companies with such a distinction. Beyond recognizing the Bank’s achievements to date, it provides access to a broader range of institutional investors in domestic and international capital markets, and may facilitate the potential issuance of debt instruments in the future, further diversifying and strengthening the Bank’s sources of funding.
