Zagrebačka pivovara confirmed the status of Employer Partner and received a new recognition for excellence during challenges
Zagrebačka pivovara has received as many as two awards confirming that they are one of the most desirable Croatian employers. Pivovara confirmed their status as an Employer Partner again this year, holding the recognition given by the consulting company SELECTIO to companies that show excellence in human resource management. The company has been the holder of this certificate since 2012, and the list of the best Croatian employers is the result of the evaluation of renowned Croatian experts.
In addition to the Employer Partner certificate, this year, Zagrebačka pivovara has received a new Excellence during Challenges award, which SELECTIO awards to those companies that have demonstrated quality human resource management and employee care during the coronavirus pandemic. In addition to emphasizing the importance of focusing on employees, the goal of the new recognition is to exchange initiatives and good practices that many companies have launched in this challenging period.
"We are especially pleased to receive the award for the management during the epidemic because we are working hard to provide conditions that will guarantee our employees safe working conditions and maximum health protection, while achieving the best possible business results. The employees of Zagrebačka pivovara are a priority, which is shown by the fact that we managed to keep the substantive rights of the workers", said Jadranka Sakoman, HR Director of Zagrebačka pivovara.
The companies that won the Excellence during Challenges award went through an independent evaluation of their HR practices in the following areas: agility and adaptability of the company, way of organizing work and communication with employees during the crisis, initiatives launched to ensure physical health, safety and well-being of employees as well as the company's readiness for new ways of working. Zagrebačka pivovara has launched numerous initiatives in all these areas. At the very beginning of the corona crisis, in just a few days, they reorganized and adjusted their business to the new circumstances, defined new goals and improved business processes. Concern for employee health has remained a priority.
"We introduced flexible working hours and work from home even before the appearance of the coronavirus, so during the pandemic we additionally ensured that employees could work unhindered from their homes. However, due to the nature of the work, not everyone was able to work from home, so we introduced strict protection measures for these employees so that the safety and health of our colleagues would be at the highest level. It was also important to communicate with employees, so that they have a sense of community and that we inform them in a timely manner about everything that is happening. This is crucial for employee motivation", said Diana Jokić, Corporate Affairs Manager at Zagrebačka pivovara.
In addition to the usual employee benefits, new forms of support were introduced during the crisis, and the company continued to communicate regularly with all employees through daily and weekly newsletters and internal announcements with a focus on well-being and a sense of security. Additionally, Zagrebačka pivovara expressed their gratitude to their employees through a personalized crate of beer, as well as free professional psychological help and additional benefits for their employees such as using company cars instead of public transport, free meals for production workers in order to reduce health risks and financial assistance for employees affected by the earthquake. Special projects have also been introduced, such as a joint virtual morning body exercise and recipes for quick and healthy meals.
