Meeting with State Secretary Matej Bule

Representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Croatia held a meeting with Mr. Matej Bule, State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Božidar Kutleša, Director of the Tax Administration, and Ms. Renata Kalčić, Assistant Director of the Tax Administration.

During the meeting, the position paper “Increasing the Availability of Digital Payments in Croatia” was presented, building upon the recommendations from the position paper “Introducing Card Payments in Public Administration,” which proposed the introduction of card and online payments in public institutions. The cooperation successfully resulted in the implementation of the ePristojbe system.

Particular emphasis was placed on reducing the limit for cash payments, distributing social benefits through digital channels, the potential of digital payments to reduce the shadow economy, and the overall improvement of digital payment infrastructure in Croatia. The representatives of the Ministry welcomed AmCham’s proposals and invited further active cooperation in the development of digital payments.

AmCham representatives attending the meeting included Andrea Doko Jelušić, Executive Director; Dražen Malbašić, Public Policy Director; Tomislav Vidović, Policy Officer as well as members of AmCham’s Card Payments Task Force, Ralph Rogobete, Marina Jurišić Škurla and Branimir Zorko.
