Our children need us, and we need you

Dear AmCham Members,

at this challenging time, we are particularly proud that all our 240 children and young people situated in Ladimirevci, Osijek, Velika Gorica and Zagreb, and the staff who take care about them every day, are well. We follow the instructions of experts, and we have made many changes to our daily lives. In SOS families, the daily schedule and rhythm has changed so that younger children play and learn through play while the school children attend online classes and help younger children with SOS moms. The SOS mom cares for an average of five children and they are the pillar of the SOS family. SOS mom is there when child needs help with homework, to hug and comfort, or just talk.

In order to continue to care for them, we need your help more than ever before! Therefore, we would urge all AmCham members to become actively involved and help us to continue our mission and vision to provide a healthy, safe and peaceful home to every child and young person we care for.

We have prepared SOS DSH Stay Home materials to help you get closer to your current day-to-day life or share tips from our experts on how to organize time for school and play with your children.

The support we need relates to everyday needs without our care is simply not possible.

We have gathered them into three basic packages that reflect the monthly needs of our children, our SOS families and all the services we otherwise provide, and in the meantime they have even been enhanced:

• #ostanidoma - monthly cost of one in 30 SOS families with an average of five children (overheads, food, SOS mom and aunt salaries) - $ 30,000;
• #ucimozajedno - the monthly cost of educators and associates helping with the care of education and extracurricular activities for schoolchildren and schoolchildren - HRK 15,000;
• #veseloselo - monthly cost of supporting psychologists to children and staff in SOS Children's Villages - $ 10,000.
