Press Release - Annual General Assembly Meeting 2026
The American Chamber of Commerce in Croatia (AmCham) held its Annual General Assembly at the Esplanade Zagreb Hotel, presenting the Chamber’s key achievements and approving the 2025 activity and financial reports, as well as the activity and financial plans for 2027. Members also elected three representatives to the AmCham Board of Governors for two-year terms.
Jasminka Horvat Martinović, CEO of Marsh Croatia, was elected First Vice President, while Eirini Drakaki, General Manager of Philip Morris Zagreb for Croatia and Slovenia, was elected Second Vice President. Nensi Bradarić, Market Access and External Affairs Director, Adriatic and Hungary at AbbVie, was elected as Untitled Governor.
AmCham continues to bring together leading Croatian, American and international companies, contributing to a competitive, predictable and favorable business environment through its policy work, exchange of expertise and ongoing dialogue with public institutions. The past year was marked by numerous initiatives aimed at improving the regulatory framework, strengthening economic cooperation and creating new opportunities for the business community.
In 2025, AmCham published 14 position papers, held 103 committee meetings and conducted 43 meetings with government representatives and other relevant stakeholders. The Chamber’s activities covered a broad range of economic and regulatory areas, with notable achievements including the adoption of selected recommendations related to public procurement and monitoring medicine shortages, the digitalization of the Court Register, and reduced fees for managing waste from solar panels.
AmCham maintained its strong focus on policy advocacy throughout 2026, publishing 13 position papers containing recommendations for improving the business environment. Among the year's notable developments was AmCham's contribution to the formal submission of the U.S.–Croatia Double Taxation Treaty to the U.S. Senate, marking an important step toward strengthening economic relations between the two countries and creating more favorable conditions for cross-border business activities and investment.
A significant part of AmCham's policy efforts focused on improving the public procurement system, with several of its proposals incorporated into the new legislative framework. These included simplifying procurement processes, further digitalizing procedures and expanding the use of the Electronic Public Procurement Classifieds (EOJN), as well as provisions addressing the treatment of bids from suppliers operating within and outside the VAT system and extending preliminary market consultation periods. These measures aim to make public procurement procedures more efficient and transparent while facilitating greater participation by businesses.
Further progress was achieved in reducing regulatory and administrative burdens on businesses, particularly through the simplification of consumer credit requirements, allowing for a more proportionate approach to regulatory obligations and easing compliance requirements for companies. AmCham also supported the introduction of a long-stay visa solution for professional drivers, helping address operational challenges in the transport sector and strengthen supply chain stability.
Beyond policy advocacy, an important part of AmCham's work is dedicated to fostering connections within the business community, facilitating knowledge exchange and strengthening international cooperation. In 2025, a total of 75 events were held, including 55 organized by AmCham, while the 2026 program comprises 70 events across a variety of formats. These include the Chamber's annual conferences addressing healthcare, digital transformation and key economic issues, expert discussions with government representatives, business networking events and AmCham Talents, its leadership development program for young business professionals. International cooperation was further strengthened through business delegations to New York and Florida, as well as Brussels, providing members with opportunities to explore international business practices and develop new partnerships.
AmCham's continued development is also reflected in its growing membership and stable financial performance. The Chamber concluded 2025 with 370 member companies, having welcomed 46 new members during the year, while membership is expected to reach 384 by the end of 2026. High levels of member satisfaction are reflected in survey results, with 97% of respondents rating AmCham's services as good, very good or excellent. According to financial projections, the Chamber's revenue is expected to exceed EUR 1 million in 2026, providing a solid foundation for the continued development of activities and programs for its members.
At the Annual General Assembly, members also approved the annual list of arbitrators and amendments to the AmCham Constitution, further defining the framework for member participation in policy advocacy activities in line with practices across European AmChams.
In 2027, AmCham will place particular emphasis on further advancing the business community's policy recommendations and maintaining constructive dialogue with relevant institutions. Alongside its regular conferences, expert initiatives and member engagement programs, the Chamber will continue to strengthen international cooperation and promote business best practices. Through these efforts, AmCham remains committed to improving business conditions, encouraging investment and supporting the long-term competitiveness of the Croatian economy.
