As the longest-standing foreign chamber in Croatia, AmCham has, over more than two decades, built a reputation as one of the most relevant stakeholders in the private sector. The Chamber continuously promotes the adoption of best business practices, supports the creation of a predictable and competitive economy, and makes a significant contribution to positioning Croatia as a desirable investment destination.
This year as well, AmCham reaffirmed its role as one of the most influential voices of the business community in Croatia. In 2024, the Chamber carried out a strong advocacy cycle, held more than one hundred member meetings on public policy issues, published 15 position papers, and achieved important progress in priority areas, including raising the threshold for the higher income tax rate, increasing the VAT registration threshold, elevating digital transformation to the level of a ministry, and incorporating AmCham’s recommendations into health sector ethics agreements. In 2024, AmCham organized 70 events, including conferences, business luncheons, workshops, and networking programs.
In 2025, AmCham continued its intensive work, issuing 14 position papers to date and achieving concrete results in the areas of public procurement, healthcare, the judiciary, digitalization, and waste management. So far in 2025, 75 events have been held, including conferences on healthcare, digital development, ESG, and tax policy, as well as special programs such as delegations to the United States (Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Silicon Valley) and Brussels.
AmCham’s membership continues to grow, and the Chamber now brings together 369 companies employing more than 110,000 people in Croatia. The high level of member satisfaction - 95% rate the Chamber’s work as very good or excellent - confirms the ongoing value AmCham provides through advocacy, professional programs, and business networking. As a nonprofit and independent organization funded solely through membership fees and sponsorships, AmCham remains a model of efficiency and professionalism in the private sector.
The financial plan for 2026 was adopted at the Assembly, and due to a significant increase in operating costs, the decision to increase membership fees starting in 2026 was confirmed, in order to preserve the quality of programs and the Chamber’s long-term sustainability. Members also adopted amendments to the Statute introducing the possibility of electronic voting and clarifying the criteria for membership, further enhancing transparency and modernizing the Chamber’s operations.
AmCham Croatia will continue, in the coming period, to strongly represent the interests of the business community, promote the best international business practices, and actively contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of the Croatian economy.
