Women in Healthcare Forum 2026

Women make up nearly 70% of the healthcare workforce in Croatia and across the European Union, as well as approximately 58% of graduates in medicine and health sciences. Yet they hold only around a quarter of leadership positions in healthcare. This disparity raises important questions about professional development, career advancement and women’s representation in the roles where key decisions are made.

These are precisely the issues at the heart of Women in Healthcare Forum 2026 – Women Who Heal & Lead, which will bring together physicians, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, scientists, and representatives of healthcare institutions, academia and the pharmaceutical industry.

The relevance of these topics is further highlighted by the findings of a recent study among oncology professionals in Croatia, which indicate that gender continues to present a barrier to career advancement and that women remain underrepresented in leadership positions.

The Forum will feature expert presentations, panel discussions and conversations on leadership, mentorship, healthcare entrepreneurship, the pharmaceutical industry and the future of healthcare. It will also provide an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience with leading experts and decision-makers, build meaningful professional connections and create new opportunities for collaboration and partnership.

The conference will conclude with the Medical Women Impact Award, recognizing women whose professional achievements, leadership, innovation and dedication have made an exceptional contribution to the advancement of healthcare and the position of women within the sector.
