AmCham delegation visit to Croatia
Presidency delegation of senior AmCham EU members together with representatives of AmCham Croatia met with the key Croatian government officials and discussed Croatian priorities during its presidency of the Council of EU and issues critical to the EU’s economy.
Presidency delegation of senior AmCham EU members visited Croatia from 4 till 6 November with the aim of getting acquainted with the Croatian priorities as the next Member State holding the Presidency. A 15 member delegation together with the representatives of AmCham Croatia met with the key Croatian government officials and discussed priorities and issues critical to the EU’s economy.
The Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković introduced the AmCham EU delegation with the Croatian priorities during its Presidency of EU Council: a Europe that develops; a Europe that connects; a Europe that protects; and an influential Europe.
During its visit to Zagreb, the AmCham EU Presidency delegation had a chance to meet with the President of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar Kitarović; Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister of the Republic of Croatia Damir Krstičević; Minister of Environmental Protection and Energy Tomislav Ćorić and Ambassador of the USA to Croatia W. R. Kohorst. The delegation met also with the representatives of the Ministry of Health; Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts; Ministry of Finance; Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure as well as the Ministry of Agriculture.
The Chair of AmCham EU's Healthcare Committee Alexander Roediger (MSD) joined the panel at the AmCham’s Croatia conference “'Croatian Presidency of the Council of the EU - Competitiveness and Growth” to talk about healthcare priorities in the EU.
AmCham EU speaks for American companies committed to Europe on trade, investment and competitiveness issues. Their aim is to ensure a growth-orientated business and investment climate in Europe. Aggregate US investment in Europe totaled more than €2 trillion in 2018 and directly supports more than 4.8 million jobs in Europe.
AmCham EU organizes two delegation visits per year to the capitals of the Member States that will hold the Presidency of the EU. Senior representatives from the AmCham EU member companies take part in these delegations.
