Meeting with Boris Lalovac

The meeting was organized with the aim of improving the Croatian tax framework to make it more competitive and predictable for investments, innovation and development.

During the meeting, key recommendations were highlighted, including the increase of the personal deduction, the application of a maximum monthly and annual base for calculating health insurance contributions, share allocation and stock option purchases, the reduction of tax rates from 20% to 10% and from 30% to 20%, the enhancement of tax incentives for research and development, as well as further profit tax relief based on salary expenses and investments in subsidiary companies.

Mr. Lalovac expressed his appreciation for the detailed presentation of the business community’s positions and emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between AmCham and the Parliamentary Committee on Finance and the State Budget.

For many years, AmCham has been closely monitoring tax changes and global trends and regularly publishes comprehensive policy position papers aimed at improving the Croatian tax system and increasing its efficiency, which is essential for fostering economic growth and attracting foreign investment.

AmCham was represented at the meeting by Executive Director Andrea Doko Jelušić, Policy Director Dražen Malbašić, and members of the Trade and Investment Committee Helena Schmidt (Deloitte), Krešimir Lipovšćak (Crowe Croatia), and Vladimir Nol (Forvis Mazars).
