Meeting with State Secretary Ivan Rakocija on the topic of investments

Representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Croatia held a meeting at the Ministry of Economy with Mr. Ivan Rakocija, State Secretary, and Mr. Bojan Batinić, Director of the Directorate for Internationalization, to discuss AmCham’s position paper on the implementation of the Global Minimum Corporate Tax Act (Pillar Two).

The meeting was a continuation of the dialogue AmCham initiated with the Tax Administration, thereby establishing cooperation with both key institutions responsible for tax and investment policy.

Participants agreed that Croatia’s accession to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) represents an important next step for the Croatian economy and will serve as an additional signal to investors regarding future investments.

The coordination of competent institutions in implementing the crucial provisions of the global minimum corporate tax, which sets a 15% minimum effective tax rate for multinational and large domestic groups whose revenues exceed EUR 750 million in any two of the previous four years is essential for maintaining Croatia’s competitiveness in attracting investments.

AmCham was represented at the meeting by Mr. Dražen Malbašić, Policy Director, Mr. Hrvoje Jelić, Chair of the Trade and Investment Committee, and Ms. Lana Brlek, Member of the Trade and Investment Committee.
