AmCham and the Ministry of the Interior Discuss Solutions for More Stable Supply Chains

During the meeting, AmCham Croatia presented its position, highlighting the potential negative consequences of the new rules for international trade, supply chains, and the Croatian economy. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of a timely regulatory response to prevent disruptions in the transportation of goods between the European Union and Western Balkan countries.

AmCham Croatia also expressed its support for the Croatian Government’s proposal, included in the Final Draft Amendments to the Foreigners Act, which would enable professional drivers from third countries to obtain long-term visas for up to one year. This represents the first concrete solution that could significantly reduce legal uncertainty, improve business predictability, and ensure more stable supply chain operations.

AmCham representatives emphasized the urgent need for the swift adoption of the legislative amendments and accompanying regulations so that the Croatian economy can adapt as soon as possible and avoid additional administrative, operational, and financial pressures.

AmCham Croatia will continue to actively cooperate with relevant institutions in identifying sustainable regulatory solutions that support border security while simultaneously protecting economic competitiveness and the smooth functioning of international trade.

Representing AmCham Croatia at the meeting were Andrea Doko Jelušić, Executive Director; Dražen Malbašić, Policy Director; and Tomislav Hodak, Corporate Security Director at Atlantic Group.
