Representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Croatia met with officials from the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation – Fadila Bahović, State Secretary; Mirela Fučkar, Director of the Directorate for Civil, Commercial and Administrative Law; Petra Jurina, Head of the Service for General Provisions of Civil Procedural and Commercial Law; Arijana Kozlevčar from the Civil and Commercial Law Legislation Sector; and Ankica Lamešić Ujević. AmCham presented its main recommendations from two of its position papers: “Digitization of the Company Share Registry System” and “Amendments to the Civil Procedure Act.” AmCham representatives emphasized the importance of establishing a digital depository of company shares as a step toward modernization and greater transparency, and presented proposals to improve the existing system, highlighting that Croatia’s company share registry system is ready for digitalization and positive change.

They also addressed the proposed procedural concentration within the Civil Procedure Act (ZPP), underlining the importance of efficient case management and the role of alternative dispute resolution. It was noted that the ZPP plays a key role in fostering responsible business conduct and ensuring legal certainty – the foundation of a successful economy.

The meeting was attended by Andrea Doko Jelušić, Executive Director of AmCham; Dražen Malbašić, Policy Director; Marko Porobija, Chair of AmCham’s Judicial Committee; and Jadranka Orešković, Vice-Chair of the Committee.

AmCham and the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation agreed to collaborate on promoting new developments in the Court Register.
