Meeting with the State Secretary Zdenko Lucić

It was emphasized how FDI is necessary to achieve the goals set in the National Development Strategy and that it is extremely important for Croatia to attract export-oriented foreign direct investments since these types of investments bring inclusion in global value chains, job creation, transfer of new technologies, knowledge, and method of work, which additionally results in growth of productivity and competitiveness of the economy. AmCham believes that, as a prerequisite for attracting such investments, it is necessary to improve organizations and processes of working with investors, the Investment Promotion Act, the preparation, and availability of information for potential investors, and to improve promotional activities. As the example of good practice were mentioned Poland and Czech Republic, countries that successfully implemented the proposals contained in AmCham’s position paper.

State Secretary Lucić welcomed the presented recommendation and AmCham’s continuous commitment to improving the business environment and increasing investment in Croatia.
